Lunaria can only be used with WordPress.org and we assume that you already have WordPress installed and ready to go. If you do not, please see our section on WordPress to help you get started.

2.Installation #

There are two methods to install the theme. If the normal installation method (1) is not supported by your web host, you will have to use the alternate option (2).

  1. Normal Installation

    1. Login to WordPress Admin and browse to Appearance > Themes.
    2. Click on the Add New Theme (or “Install Themes” tab for older versions) and click Upload.
    3. Browse your computer to select “lunaria.zip” (it’s in the zip file you downloaded). Click “Install Now” button.
    4. Once it’s uploaded, click the Activate link.
  2. FTP Installation (Alternate option)

    1. Use your FTP software to browse to wp-content/themes folder.
    2. Extract lunaria.zip and upload the lunaria folder.
    3. Once it’s uploaded, go to your WordPress Admin, browse to Appearance > Themes.
    4. Click the Activate link.


After activation, you will be presented with several plugins that you have to activate. Do not forget to activate them all or not all of the theme features will be available.
If you have existing content and featured images, you will have to install Regenerate Thumbnails plugin and run it from Tools > Regen. Thumbnails.

2.1.Demo Content Install #

We highly recommend against using this method in production. Please only use on a an extra copy for testing or experimenting.

Things you need to check to make demo installer works:

  1. Navigate to unyson, pay attention to compatible extensions, you will see Backup & Demo Content extension. Download it and activate that extension
  2. Now Go to Tools > Demo Content Install and choose the Demo you’d like to install
  3. You will see that the demo installation is in progress.
  4. After the demo content installer did the job, you’ll be logged out because the database is just refreshed. Please do the login again. (Some site will get a notice: Not Acceptable, it’s because your server fails to do the self-logout. Just ignore it, and go to your /wp-admin)
  5. When you successfully logged in, please go to Settings > Permalink. HIT the save button. This action is REQUIRED to prevent permalinks error.
  6. Congratulations, you’ve successfully installed the demo content.Notes:
    1. The images for demo content are from unsplash and Which is free for commercial themes.
    2. You CAN’T SELL the stock yourself.

3.Theme Settings #

This section will show you how to customize Lunaria theme through theme settings, which you can find by navigating to Appearance > Theme Settings

General – Manage the site layout, layout width, main color, background color, background image and container margins.

Home – Manage home appearance, post layout, featured posts area, promotion boxes, and sidebar.

Post – Manage post archive layout, grid layout columns, grid layout spacing, post content display, excerption read more sign, post meta.

  • General Post – This options will affects for general post appearance.
  • Single Post – Manage single post appearance, sidebar position, featured banner, post tags, post navigation, author info box and related posts.
  • Post Meta – Enable or disable post meta.

Header  Manage the header and sticky header. Choose header layout, background color, background image, social header (Header Version 2 only), search icon header.

  • Topbar settings – this topbar only available on header version 2. Manage topbar background color, border color, text color, link color and link hover color.

Logo – Choose logo alignment, set logo image, logo retina image, logo margins and logo width.

Menu – Manage sticky menu, full-width menu, menu height, menu background color, menu item colo, menu item hover color, menu item spacing/padding, dropdown menu background color, etc.

Footer – Manage footer content, footer styling, copyright area styling, footer social icons styling and instagram widget area styling

  • Footer content – Enable or disable footer widgetized area, instagram footer, socials footer, copyright bar and copyright content.
    • Footer Widgetized Area Builder – This section allows you to manage widgetized area for main Footer Block (add, sort, and set each column). You can create a custom and dynamic widget on this section.
      Here are 7 column width size: 1/6, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 1/1.
      Wherein, in one row it must be 1/1 in total. So, if you wanna create 3 column in 1 row, you can add 3 column with column size : 1/3 1/3 1/3 or 1/4 1/4 1/2 or something else. You can use column with size 1/1 as separator too.
  • Footer styling – Set footer background color, paddings, margins, widget divider color, border size, border color, headings color, font color, link color and link hover color.
  • Copyright area styling – Set copyright background color, paddings, font size, font color, link color, link hover color, border size and border color.
  • Social icons – Set social icons area background color, paddings, label size, icon size, icon color, icon hover color, social icons area border size and border color.
  • Instagram widget area – Set instagram widget area border size and border color.

Sidebar – Manage sticky sidebar, custom sidebar typography, sidebar font size, widget heading typography and widget heading font size.

Page – Manage pages appearance.

  • General Page – This is global page settings, wich mean this will apply for all pages, page settings also available on each Page for individual settings that will override global page settings.
  • 404 Page – Manage appearance for 404 Page (not found pagee). Set sidebar position, 404/Not found title and 404/ Not found messages.

Search Page – Manage appearance for search page, choose search post layout, search result content and sidebar position.

Social Media – Create or manage social media links that can be displayed on header (header version 2) and socials footer area.

WooCommerce* – Manage your shop, product columns, sidebar position, chart icon and “My Account” link.

Promo Boxes – Create or manage promo boxes that can be displayed on home page.

Ads Management – Add or Manage your advertisements, you can choose 2 advertisement types (code ads or image ads).

Typography – Manage global typography, this is a global typography wich mean this will apply for entire site, each section has own typography settings for individual typography settings.

Advanced – Manage site direction, smooth scrolling, pagination type, scroll to top button, search field placeholder, Google Maps API Key, custom CSS code and custom Javascript code.

3rd Party Plugin Options labeled in * are only available when you have the corresponding plugin activated. This eliminates irrelevant options to your current setup if not in use.

4.Post #

Creating Blog Posts

Step 1 – Navigate to Posts in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2 – Click on the Add New option to make a new post. Create a title, and insert your post content in the editing field.

Step 3 – Add Categories from the right side. To assign it to the post, check the box next to the Category name.

Step 4 – Add Tags from the right side. Type the name of the tag in the field, separate multiple tags with commas.

Step 5 – For a single image, click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 6 – For a video post, paste the iFrame embed from either Youtube or Vimeo into the Video Embed Code field.

Step 7 – Once you are finished, click Publish to save the post.

RECOMENDED: Set Featured Image on each post, with 2000px minimum width for best result.

6.Pages #

Lunaria includes two Page Templates that you can choose from. Each Page Template caters to user’s specific needs.

Page Templates

  • Default – This page template uses page settings that you’ve set on Theme Settings>Page.
  • Contact – This is the Contact page template that you should choose when you make your contact page with Google Map & a contact form.

How To Select A Page Template

Step 1 – Create a new page or edit an existing one.

Step 2 – On the right side of the page, you’ll find the ‘Page Settings’ box.

Step 3 – Under the ‘Template’ option, choose your desired Page Template from the dropdown field. To learn more about what each page template is for, please refer to the section above.

Step 4 – Once finished, click ‘Save Draft’ or ‘Publish’.

6.1.Default Page #

This is standard page template, this template will showing default layout base on your Page Layout settings.

If you wanna showing a page banner, simply add a Featured Image to your page and it will appear as Big Image Banner on top off the page.

6.2.Contact Page #

This is Contact Page template, this template is used to your visitors contacting you by sending an email to you or to visitors see your location by viewing maps.

How to Setting Up Contact Page

Step 1 – Make sure you have installed latest Contact Form 7 plugin by Takayuki Miyoshi.

Step 2 – create new contact form, go to Contact > Add New, from your admin panel. If you wanna create a contact form like our demo page, please copy this code to your Form field.

Step 3 – DON’T FORGET to setting Mail Sender, Message Body, Additional Header, etc from Mailt ab. For full documentation about Contact Form 7 settings, you can read from Contact Form 7 Documentation Page.

Step 4 – Click “Save”, and you will get this code bellow,  copy this code.

Step 5 – Create a New Page, paste your code (e.g: [contact-form-7 id="331" title="Contact form 1"]) to content editor, and then choose Contact page template.

Step 6 – Finally, Publish it and you’ve done!

How to Showing Maps on Contact Page

Step 1 – Please set your Google Maps API Key first on Theme Settings>Advanced>Google Maps API Key. You can get your Google Maps API Key here

Step 2 – On “Contact Settings” box, turn on “Show Maps”

Step 3 – Set your location and Info Content

Lunaria comes with some custom widgets. Custom Widget from Lunaria is start with “Lunaria:“.

About Me Widget  This widget used for showing your name, avatar and short desciptions about you.

3. Avatar (Profile Picture) URL
4. Biography

Tips: Leave “Cover Image URL” empty for full-width avatar image.
Tips: You can use HTML tags on “Biography” field. Use img tag to displaying your signature.

Ads Banner Image – This widget used for displaying advertisement image.

Ads Code – Used for showing advertisement like Google Ads. Just paste your ads script in Ads Code field.

Facebook – This widget used for displaying advertisement image.

Flickr – This widget used for showing your Flickr photos by filling up Flickr ID.
Get your Flickr ID here

Instagram – This widget Used for showing your Instagram photos feed.

RECOMENDED: Place this widget on Instagram Footer widget area.

Latest Posts – This widget will showing your latest blog posts.

Popular Posts – This widget will showing popular posts list based on views count.

Post Slider – This widget will showing posts list with slider effect, you can choose what categories that you wanna show and you can choose posts order too. You can order by date, title, comment, random or modified date.

Recent Comments – This widget showing recent comment from visitors or author. You can set how much comments that will showed.

Social Icons– This widget used for displaying your social media links.

Twitter Stream – This widget showing your recent tweets from Twitter. To setting up this widget, you mustcreate an application on Twitter first. For more details, please visits Twitter Application Management page.
